Wage Range: $18.11 - $37.13 per hour
SummaryPerforms all types of cable repair, testing and technical analysis including acceptance testing, fiber optic construction and maintenance, transmission/noise isolation, operation of all types of heavy equipment, complex air pressurization problems and sealed plant repair.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct cable repair and fiber optic construction and maintenance
- Perform acceptance testing and transmission/noise isolation
- Operate heavy equipment and address complex air pressurization issues
- Execute sealed plant repair and transmission isolation tasks
- Maintain interdepartmental, intradepartmental, customer and vendor contacts
- Drive required vehicles with clean driving record and manual gear shift
- Report to job sites and travel as necessary
- Handle 50–100 pounds, pushing, pulling, lifting and bending tasks
- Manual dexterity for ladder handling, pole climbing and working aloft
- Work at heights and in close spaces
- Climb required and use 3M modular splicing unit and other equipment
- Backhoe, cable plow, megger, ohmmeter, pusher, 3M modular splicing unit, locator, DAVAR test equipment, line truck, semi-truck, trailers, CSU, aerial devices, hand/power tools, splicing and testing tools, transmission isolation equipment, attenuation test sets, OTDR, fusion splicing, mechanical fiber splicing tools
- Standard tests meet company minimum requirements
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of splicing activity, cable construction equipment, safety test equipment
- First aid and CPR certification
- Class A CDL license with manual shift requirement
- Climbing capability; reading CAF work orders
- Basic AC/DC theory
- Good safety record
- Proficient in reading and writing English
- Working aloft and in close spaces
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and positive outlook
- Fiber optic construction and maintenance, transmission/noise isolation, sealed plant repair, and operation of heavy equipment experience
