Truck Dispatcher

The Truck Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the daily movement and utilization of Vinton trucks and rental trucks. The Dispatcher monitors fleet availability, schedules transportation activities, and resolves logistical challenges to maximize fleet efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• Monitor vehicle locations, availability, and utilization throughout the day.
• Respond quickly to scheduling changes, delays, and emergency situations.

• Update dispatch logs, rental management systems, and transportation records.
• Prepare reports on fleet utilization, operational performance, and service metrics.
• Verify driver documentation and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate transportation records.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and transportation requirements.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of dispatching, transportation, logistics, fleet management, or rental industry experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and dispatch management software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Experience in truck rental, fleet management, or transportation operations.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
• Associate's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
