This position is ideal for a professional who can manage the accounts receivable and billing with accuracy and attention to detail. The pay for this position includes a base hourly rate that depends on experience in a similar position.

role summary
the accounts receivable & billing specialist role is responsible for managing the accounts receivable and billing processes. You will serve as a key point of contact for opening accounts and assisting with the accounting and collections departments.

this position would be a temp-to-hire opportunity through snelling with our client in tyler, meaning that snelling would work with you through the consideration and interview process and snelling would be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted.

key responsibilities
  • manage accounts receivable and billing with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • approve and set up new carriers for shipments
  • process carrier onboarding paperwork and complete secondary approvals
  • train on and utilize various carrier platforms (training provided)
  • assist with accounting and collections activities
  • learn and work within company systems
  • maintain strong organization and independently manage daily tasks
  • contribute positively to a supportive, team-focused office culture
  • demonstrate willingness and enthusiasm to learn the transportation industry.
required knowledge and skills
  • experience: 2 years of similar experience, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing
  • education: high school diploma or ged. College degree preferred.
  • technical proficiency:
    • proficient in microsoft office (word, excel, power point, outlook) and adobe pdf.
    • good typing skills (minimum 30 wpm) and data entry (minimum 6,500 kph).
  • communication: excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional appearance and attitude.
  • soft skills: highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a cooperative team player.
compensation & benefits:
  • hourly rate: $19-20/hr
  • benefits: medical, dental, and vision coverage available
  • bonuses: quarterly bonuses available after permanent hire
  • paid time off: 15 paid days per year
