The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial controls. This leadership role involves supervising accounting staff, managing core financial processes (such as accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger), supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing strategic insights to senior management. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in maintaining the organization’s financial health and integrity while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare, review, and analyze accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts; ensure timely and compliant internal and external reporting.
- Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulations.
- Manage budgeting, financial planning, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis; provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and ensure successful completion of financial audits.
- Monitor compliance with tax regulations, including preparation or oversight of tax filings, and sales/use taxes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains in accounting systems and workflows.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, human resources, and executive leadership) on financial matters and special projects.
- Maintain financial records and systems; ensure data accuracy and security.
- Work within Lean Organization goals

- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Master’s degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is strongly preferred. Proven experience equivalent to a formal degree will be considered. - Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in the manufacturing is a plus. - Expert working level of Microsoft 365
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Technical
Skills:- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting tools, and data reconciliation.
- CPA, CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or other relevant certifications.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, and/or metal building industries is a plus.
- Experience with audit preparation, internal controls, or process automation.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations or software is a plus.
- Competitive salary ($85,000 to $100,000 starting range) DOE

This role reports to the Operations Manager and has one direct report. Role is exempt.
