Duties

Please note:
This is a term position not-to-exceed March 31, 2028, subject to availability of funds. This position may be extended, or made permanent, without further advertising.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for Docketing.

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Input information into databases and systems and updates records
  • Extracts requested program and/or statistical data when requested.
  • Update databases and systems to record status changes in all items docketed.
  • Reviews reports to identify errors.
  • Enters pertinent information into docketing system.
  • Performs routine factual research to correct and update case records.
  • Review recurring reports to respond to inquiries.
  • Retrieves information using routine queries or from hard copy reports.
  • Produces complicated tables, graphs and charts which may be incorporated into legal documents or courtroom presentations.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Conditions of Employment

  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.

Qualifications

GS-5:
To be qualified at the GS-5 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 in Federal Service.

Specialized experience is defined as performing various clerical/administrative support duties; performing the entry of data into the electronic file and case tracking systems; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; updating databases and systems to record status changes in all items docketed; assisting with conducting periodic file reviews; locating and correcting data entry errors; filing completed documents in appropriate locations;

responding to inquiries; typing and formatting correspondence and forms, maintaining filing systems.

OR
Education: Four years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. One year of full-time study is defined as 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) or the equivalent or 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in business, secretarial or technical school.

OR
Combination of Education and Experience
: combination of specialized experience and education as described above, where when combined equal 100% of the requirements. To qualify based on a combination, college education must be in excess of 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
