The Division Order Analyst will be based at Mewbourne Oil Company's corporate office in Tyler, Texas and will play a critical role in managing ownership records and ensuring accurate distribution of revenue and joint interest billing (JIB). This position is responsible for creating and maintaining ownership decks, processing ownership transfers and resolving inquiries and discrepancies related to royalty and working interest ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze division order title opinions, oil and gas leases, and related documents toestablishand maintainaccuraterevenue and JIB decks.
- Process ownership transfers andassistwith leasehold acreage reviews, workover proposals, DOI revisions post-payout, and shut-in reviews.
- Independently interpret complex title documents - including deeds, probate records, trust agreements, and other legalinstruments- to ensureaccurateownership records.
- Investigate and resolve complex ownership and payment issues, ensuringtimelyandaccurateresponses to interest owner inquiries.
- Collaborate with Landmen, Attorneys, andthird partiesto obtain curative documentation and resolve title defects.
- Set up Division of Interest (DOI) decks using Quorum software and prepare and distribute corresponding Division Orders.
- Coordinate with Revenue and JIB Accountingteamsto implement ownership changes based on completed document analysis.
- Manage the setup of new Business Associates and ensure proper documentation and system integration.
- Accurately calculate and verify ownership interests across various scenarios.
- Assistin the review and processing of escheatable funds in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3 to 7 years of experience as a Division Order Analyst or in a related oil and gas industry role.
- Strong understanding of real property and probate law in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma preferred.
- Proficiency in Quorum or similar oil and gas software systems.
- Skilledin Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent multitasking abilities and adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively, follow instructions, andmaintainattention to detail.
