Job Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of production operations within the facilities, including execution of plant operations at multiple locations while maintaining a cost‑efficient process. The role provides effective project management and supervision, reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and maintains operational goals and strategy. The Plant Manager develops and executes a staffing plan that meets operational objectives and maintains the approved plan according to Hillman Policy and Procedures, constantly driving continuous improvement with a focus on quality and safety while fostering a positive working atmosphere.

Job Functions
  • Develop systems and drive continuous improvement by implementing world‑class systems and measurements (e.g., Visual Factory, Lean methodologies), supporting Statistical Control Systems, and ensuring the production team meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Develop strategy, budgets, and facility objectives, working with the Director of Operations to implement strategies that support the team’s vision, review annual budgets, and direct reports to achieve individual and functional objectives.
  • Ensure production teams are maintained and managed consistently with company policy and applicable regulations, collaborating with corporate safety to create a safe work environment and promote a “safety first” culture.
  • Maintain positive employee relations by providing clear direction, communicating effectively with all levels, fostering a collaborative and team‑oriented culture, driving ownership and accountability, and supporting development of supervisory staff.
Safety & Health Participation

Employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities, including immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and supporting safety committee activities.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business operations management or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline (plus)
  • 5 years’ experience in plant management
  • Excellent knowledge of progressive manufacturing principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines
  • Skilled situational leader with the ability to establish and sustain professional relationships
  • Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of team members
