Position: Superintendent – Multifamily New Construction

Overview

A growing commercial and multifamily construction company is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee new multifamily construction projects in Texas. The Role

The Superintendent is responsible for leading all onsite field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence throughout the full lifecycle of multifamily construction projects. This role requires proactive leadership, strong communication, and effective coordination of subcontractors and field personnel to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with plans and specifications.

The Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, trade partners, consultants, and local officials to maintain project momentum and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all onsite construction activities from preconstruction through final turnover.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, high-accountability jobsite culture focused on safety, quality, mentorship, and execution.
  • Oversee and maintain project schedules, coordinating closely with project teams and subcontractors to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct weekly field meetings covering lookahead planning, safety, quality control, logistics, RFIs, and submittal updates.
  • Review project plans and specifications in detail prior to vertical construction to identify conflicts, long‑lead items, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, city officials, consultants, and trade partners regarding field execution.
  • Monitor compliance with building codes, accessibility requirements, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Support and enforce site logistics plans, including staging, deliveries, parking, material handling, and site cleanliness.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for performance, sequencing, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date field documentation, including daily logs, inspection reports, punch lists, and as‑built documentation.
  • Lead and participate in jobsite safety walks and environmental compliance inspections.
  • Coordinate closely with Assistant Superintendents and field teams to align daily objectives and priorities.
  • Maintain short‑term schedules and track project progress through two‑ and four‑week lookahead planning.
  • Organize subcontractor preconstruction and pre‑mobilization meetings to ensure documentation and approvals are in place.
  • Partner with Project Management teams to escalate and resolve issues impacting cost, quality, or schedule.
Field Execution Expectations

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Complete and submit daily field logs throughout project completion.
  • Maintain an accurate and updated construction schedule.
  • Walk the jobsite daily to verify subcontractor presence, work sequencing, safety, and quality.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors proactively to avoid schedule disruptions.
  • Lead with a solution‑oriented mindset and take ownership of overall project success.
  • Monitor jobsite safety, cleanliness, and operational standards consistently.
  • Coordinate subcontractor onboarding and pre‑mobilization activities.
  • Identify and manage long‑lead procurement items proactively.
  • Ensure plans, specifications, and contract requirements are followed accurately.
  • Drive projects toward on‑time or early completion while resolving field challenges efficiently.
  • Participate in project closeout, punch walks, and client turnover activities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent overseeing ground‑up multifamily or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong experience with wood‑frame multifamily construction preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, quality, and safety on active construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field coordination.
  • Experience managing large‑scale multifamily developments preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
Location

Based in Texas, with project site presence required.
