Position SummaryThe Superintendent reports to a Senior or General Superintendent, Project Manager, or Operations Manager and assists with the planning and daily execution of construction projects. Responsibilities include managing subcontractor performance and maintaining project budget, schedule, safety and quality standards, and ensuring effective collaboration with the project team.
Position Responsibilities Project Financial Responsibilities- Assists the project team in managing the overall project budget.
- Manages CDCC self‑perform items to successful completion within the budget.
- Performs cost coding to comply with the project budget for purchased items or labor performed.
- Evaluates projects and develops plans for successful completion during project pursuits.
- Participates in plan flips to establish scopes of work, subcontractor participation, and overall project schedule.
- Helps develop General Conditions for the project.
- Performs or assists with all project start‑up items from the Project Start‑up Checklist.
- Reviews and coordinates the Loss Prevention and Quality Control Program.
- Develops and maintains a project schedule, including periodic status updates.
- Responds to schedule challenges and slippage with work‑around plans, supplemental work, or resequencing.
- Evaluates the effects of project change directives on the schedule.
- Ensures project safety and quality control.
- Interprets all contract documents and understands the scope of work.
- Supports the development of RFIs and attends meetings with architects, engineers, and owner representatives.
- Coordinates with CDCC to update and align as‑built drawings with all clarifications, changes, and RFIs.
- Assists in planning and executing project close‑out and field portion completion.
- Builds effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
- Addresses issues with a solution‑oriented, can‑do attitude.

- Supports the development of interns and co‑ops through training programs.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Work is primarily on job sites and may require wearing personal protective equipment in accordance with company safety policies and weather conditions. The project team may need to relocate to other geographic locations for projected work.
Qualifications – Education & Experience- Preferred: up to 4 years of Assistant Superintendent experience, or 4 to 6 years of progressive construction-related trade experience.
- Desired experience in carpentry, field engineering, or assistant superintendent roles with a commercial construction company.
- Organizes people, tools, and equipment, plans multiple activities, makes decisions under tight deadlines, and upholds integrity and customer focus.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Fall Protection Competent Person Certification
- Trenching/Excavation Competent Person Certification
- Scaffolding Competent Person Certification
- Confined Space Competent Person Certification
- NPDES Level 1A Blue Card Certification
