, is looking for an experienced Producer/Multi‑Skilled Journalist to maintain our tradition of superior reporting and news gathering. We are interested in a creative storyteller who can produce unique, memorable, and well‑written stories across all platforms.
Current driver’s license and ability to operate a news‑gathering vehicle is required.
Responsibilities- Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories, while leading the entire newscast process from ideation to execution.
- Craft and produce stories across platforms for diverse audiences, emphasizing quality, accuracy, and engagement.
- Build comprehensive rundowns with compelling stories, while also selecting your own production elements giving you full control of your show’s look and feel.
- Collaborate with newsroom leadership, production lead, and other producers to ensure editorial consistency and technical quality.
- Lead continuous, live coverage of breaking news and community events.
- Innovate in show design and storytelling, trying new approaches with guidance from supervisors.
- Apply data analytics to shape content and boost engagement.
- Commit to inclusive storytelling by amplifying underrepresented voices in the community.
- Perform authoritative, compelling live shots in a developing story or in breaking news situations.
- Develop story ideas.
- Mine the community to find sources who will keep you informed about events and ideas in their areas of expertise.
- Identify, write and produce stories within a specific framework.
- Research for facts and credibility.
- Maintain and develop sources who will help bring our reporting to the next level.
- Shoot, write, produce and edit on‑air and online content within deadlines.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer photos, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
- Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
- Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily.
- Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner.
- 1‑3 years reporting experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism or a similar field required.
- Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision‑making skills.
- Strong writing skills, production skills and tease writing abilities.
- Cuez, EDIUS, and Axis graphics experience is preferred.
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines.
- Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events.
- Proven social and digital content creation ability.
