Position Overview
Ensure compliance with Workforce Solutions contractual obligations, policies, and procedures for child care intake and eligibility. Interacts with customers and child care providers to determine their needs and provide Workforce Solutions customers with child care services and information, including determining eligibility and enrolling customers in eligible child care providers.
Essential Functions- Establish rapport and credibility with customers and providers by providing excellent customer service in a professional and respectful manner.
- Determine customer eligibility by reviewing the customer documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine the parent’s share of cost.
- Enter all data into the Workforce Information System of Texas (TWIST) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Enter data into databases as directed, including the Financial Aid Communication System (FACS).
- Maintain accurate customer files in specific order and completeness.
- Take immediate action to address and resolve customer and provider complaints.
- Work on all eligibility processes, including enrollments, recertifications and status changes.
- Meet quality standards of 95% or higher on a consistent basis.
- Act as a backup for Lead IES on quality audits for Intake Eligibility Specialists.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Required:
2 years in an Intake Eligibility Specialist role. - Required:
Minimum 3 months with a quality rating of 95% or higher. - Required:
Minimum 3 months exceeding performance goals.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to write clear and accurate correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with both internal and external customers.
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying may be required as occasional or frequent duties.
- Work may involve occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold.
