Education Administration, Exam Invigilator / Test Proctor
Reporting to the Manager, the exam Proctor will assist in providing professional, consistent, and secure testing services to TJC students, as well as to individuals in the community. In order to provide an efficient and courteous work environment, the exam Proctor must be able to work and interact well with students, staff, and faculty. The hours for this position are varied.
The Test Proctor will need to be flexible and able to work evening and Saturday shifts on occasion.
Up to 18 hours per week.
Essential Functions and Duties- Enforce testing policies and procedures firmly but courteously.
- Monitor students' and community members’ testing sessions.
- Return completed academic tests to instructors.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the testing rooms.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of customer service principles

- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all student/test candidate matters

No direct supervision.
Physical Demands- Sitting, standing for long periods of time, walking, visual acuity, lifting up to (~25lbs.)
Consists of high-volume operations with variable demands, changing priorities, deadline‑driven workloads, and regular interaction with distressed individuals.

If travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Required Education- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in Education or a related field
- Experience working in a community college or university environment
- Proctor experience
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs and stand for up to an hour or more as needed.
- Must be able to easily navigate testing areas to administer exams and serve test takers.
- Moderate: moderate physical exertion required by intermittent periods of frequent walking or standing.
- Mostly routine evening shifts, Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm‑8:00pm, and 10am‑2pm on Saturdays starting in the Fall Term.
