General Summary of Position
As an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Instructor, you will develop curriculum, assess progress, and provide instruction to blind and low‑vision clients from kindergarten through adulthood, helping them gain independence in everyday living.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Formulate and manage program curriculum, lesson plans, and individualized study materials
- Evaluate client abilities and develop individualized instruction plans aligning instructor-recommended goals with client-identified objectives
- Train clients on tablets, iOS devices, and cell phones, covering setup, accessibility features, and app use
- Teach independent cooking, cleaning, personal care, and home‑management skills with adaptive tools and techniques
- Document progress, adapt plans, and track notes, tasks, and program data in Salesforce
- Collaborate with team members and support vocational and educational goals
- Perform duties under the TWC contract, including instruction, documentation, and certification maintenance
- Assist with Vision Awareness Training
- Provide in‑home training as needed
- Plan, organize, and lead events that foster independence, enjoyment, and a supportive atmosphere
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and provide required reports
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized instructional kitchen environment, handling sanitation, inventory, and deep‑cleaning tasks
- Communicate with ADL clients regularly to monitor progress
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation, education, psychology, sociology, or a related field
- At least one year of work experience
- Food Handler License
- Effective teaching and instructional skills in individual and group settings
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual client needs and learning styles
- Strong organizational, attention‑to‑detail, and time‑management skills
- Ability to demonstrate, model, and reinforce independent living skills and techniques
- Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to support client success
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, basic office technology, and client management systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive, mission‑driven approach with a passion for empowering others toward independence
