This is not a teaching position. Your role is to motivate. If a student reaches 99% of their goal and you’re tempted to call it complete, you’re missing the point. That standard might make you uncomfortable—if so, this isn’t the right fit. But if you light up at the idea of holding that bar because it demonstrates your belief in what students can achieve, read on.

Alpha students complete their academic learning through AI‑powered applications. No traditional lectures. No textbooks. You’ll spend half your day facilitating one‑hour life‑skills workshops covering public speaking, focus, and the mechanics of giving and receiving meaningful feedback. The other half, you’ll meet with students individually or in small groups, analyze their progress via Coachbot analytics, and drive each one toward 100% completion of their weekly app goals.

Workshops provide a framework, but top performers in this role adapt them and build new ones when they identify unmet needs.

Success in a quarter means every student in your cohort completes their weekly app goals, passes the Test2

Pass for every life‑skills workshop, and 90%+ report they love you. Fall short on any of those three, and you’ve fallen short of the role. Year one is about mastering the playbook; once you demonstrate you can maintain standards, you become eligible for Lead Guide, where you mentor new hires while continuing direct work with students.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills workshops for K‑8 cohorts covering public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills, adapting existing content and creating new sessions when you identify gaps
  • Conducting daily 1:1 and small‑group motivation sessions that drive every student to 100% completion of their weekly app goals, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha’s incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your individual relationship with each student to overcome resistance
  • Administering Test2

    Pass (Alpha’s mastery‑based assessment) for each life skill, then coaching students who fall short until they achieve mastery
  • Adjusting your coaching approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct conversation and accountability
  • Serving as the adult who maintains standards and the adult students want to confide in; warmth creates the permission to push, and pushing demonstrates your belief in their potential
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic instruction is embedded in the apps, not your teaching
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up; you animate an existing playbook with energy and narrative skill
  • Passively supervising students at computers; motivation in this model is active, personal, and sustained
  • Reducing a weekly goal to help a student reach it; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the target
  • Grading homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or managing parent communications;
    Campus Leads handle parent‑facing responsibilities, and the other tasks don’t exist in this model
Basic Requirements
  • Able to work in‑person at an Alpha campus in Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ;
    Oklahoma City, OK;
    Tulsa, OK;
    Nashville, TN;
    Austin, TX;
    Brownsville, TX;
    Fort Worth, TX;
    Houston, TX (Central, South, or The Woodlands);
    Park City, UT – relocation assistance provided
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (classroom teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
  • A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging goal: the goal itself, your actions, and the result
  • Comfort allowing AI to manage instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and…
