The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) Department of Civil and Construction Engineering and Management in the College of Engineering (COE) is seeking applications for a tenure-track

Assistant Professor position in Civil Engineering/Structuresstarting as early as January 2026. The department is particularly interested in applicants whose experience, practice, and/or research enhance the sustainability ofthe built environment and the stewardship of natural resources.

This position is targeted for candidates with a strong background in Structural Engineering.

Candidates in other emerging areas that align with the department'svision and strategic goals will also be considered. The review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

• Teaching, research, and outreach mission of the department and performing assigned administrative duties
• Maintain regular on-campus presence.
• Attend departmental meetings.

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Professional and academic experience.
• Potential for sustaining a vigorous externally funded research program and a dynamic portfolio of graduate and undergraduateeducational competencies.
• Professional Engineering License, or on track for license.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement Systemof Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the optionto elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS,subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135days in length.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States bytime of hire.
