Job Overview
We are searching for an experienced Senior Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.
What You’ll Be Doing- Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in project plans and reports.
- Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems.
- Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation improvement projects.
- Permitting with different regulatory and water management agencies.
- Assisting and preparing project plans using Open Roads Designer.
- Contributing to the preparation and/or modification of considerable scope and complexity engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects.
- Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates and project specifications.
- Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements.
- Preparing and assisting with the preparation of project schedules.
- Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule.
- Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior level support staff and other designers.
- Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned.
- Assisting with roadway project development and other miscellaneous civil engineering tasks for project design and delivery.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Valid Professional Engineering Licensure or the ability to acquire it within 6 months.
- 10+ years of relative/progressive drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience.
- Experience with Open Roads Designer, Storm CAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software.
- Previous TxDOT drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Master’s in Water Resources field.
