Estimator, Engineering

SNELLING , a locally owned & operated staffing and recruiting firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our pre-construction team in Tyler. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) and related systems. The ideal candidate combines technical construction knowledge with strong analytical skills to produce profitable bids in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for diverse metal building projects, ranging from small commercial to large industrial facilities.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
• Develop accurate take-offs for panels, framing, insulation, and other building components.
• Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to ensure estimates align with project scope.
• Stay current with industry advancements and assist in optimizing designs for cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 3-7+ years of experience as an Estimator specifically within the metal building, structural steel, or pre-engineered building industry.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of PEMB systems, including rigid frames, secondary members, and standing seam roofs.
• Skills: Proficiency in reading structural and architectural drawings.
• Software: Experience with estimating software (e.g., MBS, Bluebeam) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Compliance: Knowledge of relevant building codes (IBC, AISC, MBMA, etc.).
