RoleSummary
In the role of a Senior Site Civil BIM Designer we’ll count on you to:
- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi‑discipline design team on a daily basis.
- Support the design and production of site civil construction documents related to Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial clients.
- Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D – site survey, layout, grading, drainage, storm water management, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.
- Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
- Manage the setup and development of design projects in Civil 3D to ensure proper file and layer management, mentoring and training other site civil staff.
- Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to ensure they adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.
- Develop BIM execution plans for the Site Civil discipline in Civil 3D and coordinate with BIM discipline leads for compliance with project requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of site civil design concepts and how all disciplines interact with construction documents.
- Manage multiple tasks and project deadlines concurrently in a fast‑paced team environment with strong coordination.
- Maintain an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
- Mentor and develop the Digital Design staff within their discipline.
- Ensure the team has the appropriate software, versions, access and training to execute the project requirements.
- Communicate, coordinate, and compile all project digital deliverables and exchange processes at predetermined milestones.
- Archive project submittals and close‑out documents.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Autodesk Civil 3D certification.
- Experience with Navisworks, Micro Station and Open Roads.
- Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years related industry experience.
- Advanced skill set with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
- Advanced skill set with 3D coordination tools.
- Competency with Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
- Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices, discipline codes and specifications.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Leadership and mentoring skill sets.
