Job Summary:
Responsible for receiving, processing, and maintaining deposit account documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to Bank policies and procedures. This position supports all consumer and non-consumer demand deposit account (DDA) products, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit (CDs), individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and safe deposit boxes (SDBs). The specialist works closely with branch personnel to identify documentation deficiencies and maintains the integrity of customer account records.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately and efficiently completes quality control reviews of all newly opened and maintained consumer and non-consumer deposit accounts for all Bank locations.
- Verifies account documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal regulations and Bank policies.
- Performs daily maintenance for all deposit accounts and ensures compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Ensures Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements are met.
- Creates and maintains exception tracking checklists for missing documentation that’s required as part of the account opening or maintenance procedures.
- Researches and resolves documentation discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Provides account support to branch personnel.
- Accurately and efficiently enters and verifies customer and account information within the core system.
- Knows and stays current on banking products and services.
- Knows and stays current on compliance and regulatory issues related to deposit accounts and deposit account documentation requirements for both consumer and non-consumer accounts.
- Reads and understands legal documentation for consumer and non-consumer accounts.
- Responsible for monthly email rotation of department email, assigning email requests to individual team members.
- Completes assigned cross-training to fully support the department’s needs.
- Participates in testing and projects, as assigned.
- Assists with departmental projects, process improvements, and cross-training initiatives.
- Continues professional development through training, seminars, and membership in professional associations, as applicable.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contributes to a positive team environment with peers, both inside and outside of the department.
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.

- Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established at Southside Bank.
- Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank’s Information Security Program.

Required Education/Experience (QC Specialist I):
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
