Position: 35M Human Intelligence Collector

Job Description

Intelligence is crucial to the security of our nation. By gathering information about an adversary’s intentions, strengths, vulnerabilities, and capabilities, the military can plan, prepare, and defend against potential attacks. As a Human Intelligence Collector in the Army National Guard, you will earn a security clearance and utilize your strategic, cognitive, and language skills to obtain Intel from both friendly and hostile sources.

Job Duties
  • Screen human intelligence sources and documents
  • Debrief and interrogate human intelligence sources
  • Participate in human intelligence operations
  • Analyze and prepare intelligence reports
  • Conduct intelligence gathering missions involving human sources
  • Advise military organizations based on intelligence gathering
  • Coordinate with federal agencies

Training and Development

Through training, you will develop skills and experience for a civilian career in research or business planning, or for work in government agencies.

Job training for Human Intelligence Collection Technicians consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, 6 to 18 months of language training, and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Completion of initial entry training can also lead to additional college credit.

Compensation

Non‑prior service candidates will initially earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend. As a 35M, you will earn additional pay each month for maintaining language proficiency, from $100 to $500 per month for your primary language, and up to $1,000 total if you maintain proficiency in additional languages.

Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
