Get to Know Your Team:

* UT Health East Texas EMS/AIR 1 has more than 65 ambulances, three active helicopters and one helicopter in reserve strategically located across the region and emergency teams provide rapid access to care.

Responsibilities

* Administers emergent and critical care to a patient population which ranges from neonates to geriatrics utilizing the nursing process.

* Works cooperatively and interdependently with emergency, prehospital, law enforcement, and ancillary personnel while coordinating the emergent and critical care of patients requiring helicopter transportation.

* Markets the Air 1 Program and serves as a representative of the department, as well as the ETMC Regional Healthcare System, when involved with a public relations activity and/or marketing activity.

* Understands and supports the ETMC Mission, Vision, and Values.

* Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.

* At least three years critical care nursing experience. Critical care experience is defined as no less than 4000 hrs in an ICU or emergency department

* Texas RN license

* Texas EMT-B certification and EMT-P within one year.

* BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

* Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)

* NRP

* One advanced certification (CFRN, CEN, CCRN) required or within two years of employment.

* Previous flight nursing experience
