* Summary:
** The DSP supervises adults with disabilities, using reasonable actions to ensure the safety and well-being of each adult, effectively communicate facility and programmatic behavioral expectations and limitations to adults, and maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures and established state and federal standards and requirements.
The DSP PRN staff will perform all job duties as described during the assigned work hours, as needed.

* Essential Functions:
** 1. Maintain positive relationships with clients, staff as well as have a good rapport with therapists, student interns, families, and volunteers.
2. Assist each client toward the achievement of active treatment goals, working both formally and informally to provide active treatment through all activities and interactions as trained and document formal active treatment.
3. Document all serious incidents completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
4. Implement social and recreational activities using approved curriculum and lesson plans.
5. Utilize positive behavior management techniques including verbal redirection, de-escalations and containment.
6. Teach realistic problem-solving behaviors, responsible time and money management, and life skills using approved curriculum.
7. Teach good personal hygiene skills.
8. Assist in orientation of new participants.
9. Provide proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention when required or directed by staff. 10. Demonstrate a commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems.
11. Submits work orders for needed repairs and maintenance to Helpdesk in an accurate and timely manner. 12. Teaches and models for clients how to resolve conflicts and manage their anger in appropriate and constructive ways. 13. Advocates for clients’ rights and needs. 14. Works as assigned by the Director of Day Habilitation Program. 15. Follows all BVT policies and procedures, as well as state and federal guidelines as required by CMS, HHSC, DFPS, other regulatory agencies.
16. Complete all required documentation prior to completion of shift.
17. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program supervisor

** 1. Documentation completed prior to end of shift
2. Responsive to all radio protocols
3. Report to work on time
4. Maintain an orderly and clean program room.
5. Oversee daily hygiene and noon meals.
6. Attends annual and interim staffings which address issues of client care and participates in active treatment planning and implementation for clients as available.
7. Ensures safety and supervision of clients while in group activities, giving one-on-one attention to any client who is stressed, distressed, or in need of special support for a brief interval of time.
8. Assume responsibility for transportation of assigned clients.
9. Maintains record of Day Program client’s attendance, activities and behaviors 10. Develop monthly plan for activities and lessons utilizing approved curriculum and community partner resources. 11. Implement lessons and engage clients in learning process. 12. Maintain annual training requirements 13. Maintain a secure campus environment by making rounds as required, and by using proper application of radio communication protocols including responding to all radio calls.
14. Take actions to promote positive interaction between clients and encourage clients to take responsibility in the daily routine of the facility.
