Position Overview for Radiology ManagerHospitality Health ER is seeking an experienced Radiology Manager to provide day-to-day supervision, coordination, and operational support of the Radiology Department within a fast-paced emergency department setting.
This role serves as a working clinical and operational leader, acting as the primary point of contact for radiology staff while supporting the Director of Operations with execution of departmental priorities. The Radiology Manager ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging services, regulatory compliance, staff performance, and efficient departmental workflow in alignment with organizational policies and leadership direction.
The Radiology Manager is clinically qualified and may be scheduled to perform imaging services as needed based on staffing and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities for Radiology Manager Department Operations & Workflow- Maintain competency in radiologic procedures and imaging modalities
- Perform diagnostic imaging services as scheduled or as needed to support staffing and patient care
- Monitor imaging quality, patient safety, and adherence to clinical standards
- Support smooth daily workflow and operational readiness of the department
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and coaching radiology staff
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and participate in evaluations and corrective actions under leadership direction
- Support staff engagement, development, and accountability
- Assist with staffing coverage while helping control overtime and labor costs
- Monitor departmental quality indicators and participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing, providers, and leadership to address workflow, clinical, and service concerns
- Escalate significant clinical or operational issues to the Director of Operations as appropriate
- Manage staff schedules and daily assignments
- Review and submit timekeeping, attendance, and payroll-related documentation
- Assist with tracking staffing needs, training requirements, and departmental documentation
- Provide operational input related to budgeting, equipment, and staffing planning
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy at all times
- Ensure departmental readiness at the start and end of each shift
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and team members
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and chain of command
- Contribute positively to the mission and goals of Hospitality Health ER
- Support team needs and assist with other duties as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
- Active radiologic technologist credentials as required by role and state regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage competing demands
- Demonstrated professionalism, productivity, and customer service
- Knowledge of radiology workflows, patient safety, and regulatory standards
- Experience in healthcare environments with understanding of medical terminology
- Commitment to ongoing education, annual competencies, and clinical skill maintenance
- Experience in radiology operations, lead technologist, or supervisory roles
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or change-management experience
- Emergency department experience
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, push, pull, and lift for extended periods
- Lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds occasionally
- Use full range of body motion and fine motor coordination
