Description

This position is responsible for:
Assists the lead social service worker in providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the following areas: food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance; interviews clients to determine need and eligibility to receive services; prepares accurate and complete client records; and provides food pantry and clothing closet assistance to clients.

Key Responsibilities (80%)
  • Assist the reconnect supervisor with program changes and Implementation
  • Facilitates educational and group sessions in relation to the treatment and recovery of substance abuse using a multi- disciplinary team approach
  • Serves as liaison to other agencies to obtain/ coordinate assistance on the client's behalf; builds and maintains professional working relationships with the community
  • prepares and files clients' records promptly, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
Administrative Responsibilities (20%)
  • Prepares and maintains statistical records on all services provided; complies and prepares monthly statistical reports; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
  • Answer the telephone courteously and tactfully; assist clients by providing accurate and complete information
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25lbs), 5-10% of work time
  • Work is performed in a normal office enviroment ehere there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort is associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D. And

No prior experience required, or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications

Valid State Driver's License (Preferred)
