Day Shift, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Job DescriptionThe Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in quality assurance (QA), and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Perform MRI examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput.
- Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within the scope of licensure.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal agency standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working shifts at various campuses as needed.
- Accurately scan and store completed exams in PACS and follow downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report to management or biomedical personnel.
- Provide exceptional assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to promote physician satisfaction.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Basic computer experience required.
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) from ARRT or ARMRIT is required.
- State licensure required if in New Mexico MRT by MIRT.
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
