REPORTS TO:Operations Manager
DUTIES:
Maintains and performs the maintenance and repairs for the three properties in the Hope Haven organization. Make necessary repairs to drywall, fixtures, appliances, furniture, equipment, plumbing and electrical as needed. Have a knowledge of every aspect of construction and building maintenance. Able to communicate maintenance needs to Operations Manager and be in communication with outside vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:Must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint background check.Have a high school diploma or equivalent.Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.Be at least 21 years oldAbility to work with interruptions and in stressful situations.Experience in drywall installation and repair, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and handyman work.Compensation Status:
Part Time Hourly, DOE
GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES
Perform duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner.Maintain a positive and cooperating working relationship with clients, administrative staff, team members and outside vendors and contractors.Serve as coordinator for scheduling inspections in the home, with vehicles and at Hope Haven.Perform other tasks and assume such responsibility as related to the positionBe prompt and timely in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.Create and maintain a log of maintenance items, inspection dates and repair costs. Be able to report these things to Operations Manager as requested.NOTE:
These requirements represent minimum levels to perform the job on a satisfactory basis. Candidates must have the ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.
Ability to be certified in CPR & First AidAbility to work independently under very little supervision.Ability to exercise patience, good judgment, and confidentiality; to observe and make accurate assessments of situations with available information.Ability to work with frequent interruptions and in stressful situationsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with young adults, other employees, and the public.Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Employees will not be permitted to work when they have infectious disease or skin lesions, for the duration of communicability.Acknowledge the unique Statement of Faith mission of Hope Haven of East Texas and respond appropriately to the cultural differences among the agency’s service population.Possess a valid driver's license and have a driver's record which is within the Guidelines of the insurance underwriter.Must not have been convicted of a felony or criminal offense against a child.This position requires positive completion of a 90-day probationary period. During this time, the agency and employee will decide if the professional relationship is cohesive. At any time during the 90-day probationary period, either the agency or employee may terminate the relationship for any reason.
