Outbound Dock Supervisor

Overview

As an Outbound Dock Supervisor, you will oversee dock operations, supervise and coordinate the activities of dock associates assigned to the dock and/or yard, and manage the routing of shipments and loading/unloading of freight. You will ensure that Pickup & Delivery (P&D) units are closed at agreed‑upon times and that special customer requests are handled on time every time. You will maintain the integrity of P&D loads originating at the Service Center, implement loss prevention plans, and drive continuous measurable improvement.

• Supervise dock associates and coordinate daily dock and yard activities.
• Oversee the routing of shipments and loading/unloading of freight.
• Ensure timely close‑out of inbound operations and proper handling of special customer requests.
• Manage P&D loading by monitoring stops, weight, and loading conditions to meet error‑free work requirements.
• Practice and enforce an effective loss prevention plan in collaboration with the Service Center and cargo claims/loss prevention personnel.
• Plan warehouse and storage area layout considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Maintain focus on significant risks and implement adequate controls.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of dock or leadership experience, or completion of a management training program.
• Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
