The Community Engagement Officer (CEO) grows Credit Union of Texas in a defined market by developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy that integrates community involvement, branch engagement, public relations, social media, and Select Employee Group (SEG) partnerships. The CEO builds and maintains relationships with influential community decision makers, civic organizations, schools, and local businesses; collaborates with the assigned Branch Manager to drive sales, service, and membership growth;
and uses CUTX-approved AI and analytics tools to prioritize prospects, optimize outreach, and report on results. The CEO is accountable for meeting or exceeding membership, loan, and deposit growth targets established by the Vice President of Community Engagement while serving as a visible ambassador of CUTX in the community.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Develop and implement a community involvement plan to target, support, and acquire new community and strategic partners that grow CUTX membership, loans, and deposits within the target demographic.
- Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to assess the costs and benefits of business development activities, maximizing return on investment for CUTX's financial and human capital in the assigned market.
- Drive business in the local market by increasing SEG penetration, facilitating SEG onboarding, and delivering engagement presentations that spotlight CUTX products and services.
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships with influential decision makers in the assigned market, including school district superintendents, fire chiefs, chiefs of police, city leaders, C-suite executives, and business owners.
- Set, meet, and exceed sales and service goals defined by the Vice President of Community Engagement.
- Participate in the local Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations to strategically connect with community and business leaders, including involvement in chamber Leadership programs and board service with chambers, school foundations, school Business Advisory councils, or influential community clubs.
- Attend community and strategic partnership events to network, prospect, and spotlight CUTX products and services.
- Serve as an ambassador of CUTX in the community, maintaining a polished, professional appearance at all times when representing the credit union.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and implement a branch engagement plan that fosters a collaborative team environment and supports meeting or exceeding store sales and service goals.
- Review and analyze branch profit and loss reports to assess performance, execute plans of action that increase profitability and market share, and identify trends using available management tools and reports.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager and Community Engagement Support Specialist to coordinate support for community engagement events, including Grand Openings, Annual Meetings, Shred Days, and school, community, and employee events; personally attend events to engage members, open new accounts, and generate leads.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to create a local social media strategy and develop unique programs, targeted sales materials, ads, collateral, and prospecting campaigns as needed.
- Maintain an organized weekly and monthly approach to activity, including an accurate calendar of appointments and events.
- Document all prospecting and relationship-building activity in the CUTX client relationship management (CRM) database.
- Understand the organization's OPIP goals and ensure that personal contributions, projects, and management of corporate expenses positively contribute to those goals.
- Identify exceptional talent through the credit union's hiring process and make recommendations for advancement, promotion, or other internal opportunities.
- Demonstrate enthusiastic support of CUTX's mission, core values, and long-term objectives and perform duties within bylaws, regulations, Board policies, established service standards, and work procedures.
- Adhere to the corporate code of conduct and to corporate vehicle, mileage, expense reimbursement, and training policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of CUTX's strategic objectives.
