Position Summary

TYM North America is looking for an experienced Assembler Associate to join our production team. The Assembler Associate is responsible for performing assembly operations using various tools to meet quality requirements and customer demands. Assembly operations may include lifting, bolting, torquing, testing, and other tasks. The Assembler Associate is expected to lead by example in areas such as safety, ethical standards, attendance, intensity, sense of urgency, team philosophy, initiative, quality assurance, standard work, 5S+, product knowledge, positive attitude, interpersonal communication skills, and professional presence.

Functions
  • Maintain effective departmental communications to assure a positive work environment.
  • Follow documented procedures to perform safe and defect free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.
  • Use industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.
  • Operate tractors, forklift and other equipment as needed
  • Implement process improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement processes in conjunction with the TYM Quality Management System
  • Maintain departmental tooling and equipment inventories and monitor.
  • Adhere to quality procedure/work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process
  • Maintain a positive commitment to the safety of self and others
  • Act as a positive role model and support change actively participating in the implementation of the (Lean Six Sigma) tools, providing guidance and/or training to less experienced co-workers
  • Meet daily production targets maintaining production flow, recording jobs completed and reporting issues preventing compliance
  • Monitor and check In Process Check List, Action List, 5S and leverage Lean Manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination
Job Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a production setting (mechanical assembly preferred)
  • Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
  • Willing and able to lift to 35 lbs.
  • Knowledge/experience with hand and power tools
  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate continuous learning through cross training, learning new skills and refreshing prior skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
