Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Your role includes ensuring donor safety, managing medical events, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

About the RoleYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of any unsuitable results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the medical authority of the Center Physician.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to local pandemic threats.
- Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines as directed by Bio Life Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly Wage: $24.32 – $33.44 (depending on qualifications, experience, and location). U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives.
