Travel CVOR Registered Nurse
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN to work a 13‑week assignment in Tyler, Texas. The role includes direct and indirect nursing care of patients in the cardiovascular operating room for open and closed heart surgeries. The assignment pays 40 hours per week on 8‑hour shifts.

- One year recent experience as a CVOR RN
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Current ACLS certification is preferred
- Additional certifications/licenses may be required
- Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room, assemble equipment, supplies, medications and implants.
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team in delivering coordinated care.
- Use surgical preference cards to confirm procedure, surgeon and patient details.
- Position patients safely to optimize surgical exposure.
- Participate in Universal Protocol and timeout procedures.
- Handle and document specimens accurately.
- Coordinate post‑surgical patient handoff to the recovery team.
- Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care before, during, and after surgery until handoff.
- Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout surgery.
- Respond effectively to intra‑operative emergencies such as cardiac arrest.
- Perform other duties within scope of position.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, PC skills.
- Physical ability to stand, move, lift 50‑100 lbs, push/pull and bend.
- Interpersonal skills to work with diverse personnel.
- Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and equipment use.
- Mental resilience to high‑pressure situations and irregular schedules.
