Job Details / Responsibilities:

• Provide independent, competent nursing care in the ICU using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for critically ill patients.
• Deliver routine and complex care, managing high‑acuity situations, contingencies, and long‑range patient goals.
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced therapies while monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Perform critical assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and rapid response to changes in patient condition.
• Address complex physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care, patient education, and optimal outcomes.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care accurately while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Meet OneCHRISTUS Competencies as Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders while promoting patient safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (or compact state).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience preferred (will consider strong Med‑Surg or acute care background).
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required (additional certifications within designated grace periods).
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills in high‑pressure environments.
• Ability to work full‑time 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
