Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support our Tyler location in the Infusion and Medical Oncology departments. This is a full‑time position with typical hours Monday‑Friday (8:30 am‑5:00 pm) and no weekends, on‑call or major holidays.

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age‑specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Administer all medications and blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time and technique.
• Assure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Entry level: 0‑3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred (minimum 1 year nursing experience, oncology infusion experience preferred).
• Oncology certification and chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion certification preferred.

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.

• Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

• Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
• Oncology certification preferred.
