American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring Epic experience and night shift availability in a cardiac-focused inpatient unit.
Details- Work on a 36-bed private room telemetry unit (5 North) in a hospital setting
- Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients, with a focus on cardiac care and cardiac intervention recovery
- Cases include post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implant, and hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour nights, 19:00–07:00
- Epic EMR; experience preferred
- Skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin protocols, vasoactive drip management, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care
- Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (license hit not accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience in cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, or similar work settings
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Candidates must not reside in the following Texas counties to be eligible:
Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris - Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation; all RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation and average 4–6 hours for RNs
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
