American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details- Hospital telemetry unit with 36 beds
- Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, CVA, neurological, gastrointestinal, post-surgical, and renal cases
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Floating required to units of equal acuity
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- Specialized skills utilized include cardiac drip management (no titration), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin protocols, PCA, central line and PICC line care, tracheostomy care, and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, port access/management, and peripheral/central/PICC line care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration)
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- State Board of Nursing License Verification and NURSYS Verification required for consideration
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Candidates residing in the following TX counties are not eligible:
Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris - Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- RTO must be disclosed at the time of submission; no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation (estimated 4–6 hours for RNs)
- Preferred skills include ABG interpretation, HFNC management, tracheostomy care, CVA/spinal cord injury experience, and pre/post cardiac cath or cardiac surgery experience
