American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring Epic charting proficiency and a valid TX or compact RN license.
Details- 36-bed Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, CVA, spinal cord injury, GI, renal, and post-surgical cases
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- Floating required to units of equal acuity
- Epic EMR required
- 13-week contract
- Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand — license hits are not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Travel experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills required include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV insertion and maintenance, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry remote monitoring, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Preferred skills include: ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, CVA/stroke experience, cardiac cath and cardiac surgery pre/post care, hemodialysis management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Candidates must reside outside of the following TX counties:
Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris - Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- All RTO requests must be disclosed prior to consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation and average 4–6 hours for RNs
