American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior telemetry experience.
Details- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting with 36 rooms/beds
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Float required to units of equal acuity
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Manage patients with cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
- Perform feeding tube care, surgical drain management, and wound care as needed
- Not accepted for candidates residing in specific nearby counties as determined by the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles are not accepted as locals
- Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
