American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

• Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour block scheduling (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Epic EMR system used for charting

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills required include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and suctioning
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Renal experience including CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• IV insulin protocol experience required

• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as local
• Additional restrictions apply for candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
