Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Administer treatments, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans tailored to medical and surgical needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, patient status, and response to treatments, utilizing telemetry and oximetry when needed.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the Epic electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, post-discharge care, and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active state or compact RN license at the time of submission.
• A minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Epic charting and telemetry monitoring.
• Possess certifications in NIHSS and BLS.
• Show ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:6.
• Travel experience preferred but not required.
