RN, Surgical Assistant, Operating Room Nurse

Surgical Nurse Position - Ortho, General, Neuro, Vascular, Urology

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 06:30 AM - 11:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday; 06:30 AM - 03:00 PM on Monday (3 shifts per week). Call is minimal, requiring 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks.

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Nurse with proficiency in Orthopedics, General surgery, Neuro, Vascular, and Urological procedures. The ideal candidate will have a background with Epic charting and a strong understanding of various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures including but not limited to abdominal surgery, orthopedic, and neurological interventions.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative care planning and implementation.
• Manage patient care in the operating room following best practices and hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical nursing.
• Experience in Orthopedics, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology required.
• Travel experience is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Davinci Robots, endovascular procedures, and eye surgeries is preferred.
• Current and valid nursing license (State or Compact) must be in hand at the time of application.
• Previous charge experience and familiarity with patient ratios in surgical settings.
