DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift cardiac unit position requiring travel experience and Epic charting familiarity.
Details- Work on a 36 private-room Telemetry unit (5 North) serving young adult through geriatric patients
- Priority admissions include patients recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant
- Unit also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Epic charting system used
- Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
- Travel experience required
- Certifications:
BLS and NIHSS required, ACLS also required - NIHSS certification preferred if not already held
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with cardiovascular care including pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, and sheath removal preferred
- Experience with heparin protocols and management of vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management preferred
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring for dysrhythmias and utilizing rapid response/code teams as needed
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates residing in the following TX counties are not accepted:
Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris - Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- All RTO must be listed at time of consideration
- Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- Orientation includes required non-billable modules completed onsite
