Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring TX or compact RN license, 2+ years ER experience, and travel experience.

Details
  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 36 rooms
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • 36 or 48 hour per week options available
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Epic charting system used
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
  • Experience interpreting ABGs preferred
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
  • Neurological trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Experience in shock/trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
  • Pediatric trauma experience including head injury and near drowning preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
  • Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Orthopedic trauma experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center setting
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
  • Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Orientation includes onsite completion of training modules
