American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license and prior travel experience for a Medical-Surgical ICU assignment.

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hour weekly shift options
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Uses Epic for charting

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in teaching, community, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II hospitals preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration required
• Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and suctioning required
• Experience with acute/chronic renal failure and CRRT/CVVHD required
• Skill in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation required
• Experience managing CVA/stroke patients and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management required
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction and IV insulin protocols required
• Additional specialized skills such as ECMO, IABP, EVD, ICP monitoring, TAVR, and post-cardiac surgery care preferred

• Care for critically ill patients in a Surgical or Neuro ICU setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to manage complex patient needs
• Complete required onboarding modules and core lab work within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4-6 hours for RNs
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Travelers residing in certain nearby Texas counties are not eligible for contract
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
