American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 36 hours per week required
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required
- Epic charting system used
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line care/management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience with respiratory care including ventilated patients, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols preferred
- Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients preferred
- Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced intermediate care/step-down setting
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Manage patients requiring wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
- Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
- First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
