American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN requiring at least 2 years of neuro ICU experience and prior travel experience.
Details- Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit
- 36-hour night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts
- Weekend shifts required
- Float required to ICU/IMC/Tele units as needed
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
- Experience with ventilated patient care and respiratory/thoracic management
- Neurological skills required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neuro ICU patients
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
