Quality Control Manager – East Texas (Tyler)

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee the quality of our East Texas Ready Mix Product (35 plants), ensuring compliance with DOT, ASTM, and internal standards. The role will lead QC teams, optimize plant manufacturing processes, analyze raw materials, and manage laboratory personnel to meet customer and safety expectations.

• Manage the Quality Assurance staff, including field technicians/representatives and laboratory testing personnel.
• Develop internal processes and procedures to measure staff performance and ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the quality of concrete produced for all divisions in the area.
• Oversee mix design submittals for projects to assure they meet project specifications, technical correctness, and customer requirements.
• Report monthly on mix optimization, deficiencies in mix performance, and number of bids and submittals produced for each division.
• Assist in formulating quality system procedures and work instructions for continuous improvement of the quality system.
• Assist with reporting raw materials and product performance to help prevent product failure.
• Perform all needed quality control functions required to maintain a superior quality of concrete pursuant to the QA Program.
• Ensure batching and raw material control procedures are followed as specified in the QA Program.
• Verify that the procedures and testing performed in an area are technically correct.
• Perform functions assigned in the QA Program and prepare documentation for control of materials and processes.
• Communicate and coordinate material test results to QA Managers, Area Managers, and suppliers.
• Randomly perform project inspections of delivered concrete to ensure product quality and troubleshoot customer concerns on quality issues.
• Manage the regional laboratory in accordance with OSHA’s and the company's safety guidelines.
• Supervise the functions of the regional laboratory and any laboratory technicians.
• Submit established QA key performance indicators monthly to the Director, QA.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by management.

• Experience as a Quality Control Manager or supervisor within the construction materials, mining, or cement industry.
• Experience managing alternative fuels/raw materials programs (sometimes required).
• Strong understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and laboratory computer systems.
• Leadership skills to manage, train, and coach subordinates.
