Experienced Acquisition Landman

Norwood Land Services is seeking an experienced Acquisition Landman with a strong background in mineral and asset acquisitions. Applicants must have 7–10 years of verifiable land experience and a demonstrated history of successfully evaluating, negotiating, and closing acquisitions in East Texas.

Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing acquisition opportunities from initial evaluation through closing. This is a hybrid position, and candidates must reside within a 100-mile radius of Tyler, Texas.

• Identify, evaluate, and pursue mineral, royalty, and producing asset acquisition opportunities
• Conduct and review detailed mineral and leasehold title examinations
• Analyze ownership, production, and other relevant data to support acquisition decisions
• Negotiate the purchase of minerals, royalty, and other oil and gas interests
• Prepare, review, and manage Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs), mineral deeds, conveyances, and related acquisition documents
• Perform due diligence on prospective acquisitions and identify title defects, encumbrances, and other transaction risks
• Coordinate and resolve title curative requirements necessary for closing
• Work with mineral owners, brokers, attorneys, operators, and internal teams throughout the acquisition process
• Manage transactions from initial evaluation and negotiation through document execution, funding, and closing
• Maintain accurate acquisition records, ownership information, transaction status, and supporting documentation
• Meet acquisition targets, project deadlines, and client requirements
• Travel throughout East Texas as required

• 7–10 years of verifiable land experience
• Demonstrated successful acquisition experience in East Texas
• Extensive knowledge of minerals, royalty, leasehold, and working interests
• Strong understanding of mineral and leasehold title
• Experience with acquisition due diligence and closing transactions
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and negotiating PSAs and related conveyance documents
• Familiarity with producing oil and gas properties and production data
• Strong understanding of oil and gas contracts, deeds, assignments, and other acquisition documents
• AAPL membership required
• Must reside within a 100-mile radius of Tyler, Texas

• Strong acquisition, negotiation, and closing skills
• Ability to examine and interpret complex mineral and leasehold title
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to evaluate and organize large amounts of ownership and transaction data
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to utilize and navigate relevant county, state, and online oil and gas resources
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple transactions simultaneously
• Ability to meet deadlines and fulfill project obligations

• Annual salary: $84,000–$88,000, based on experience and qualifications

• Landman: 7–10 years required
