Position Summary

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring associates; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; recognizing associates; communicating expectations consistently and effectively, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments; develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability and measure progress; identify and address improvement opportunities; demonstrate adaptability and continuous learning.
  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts; providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions; communicating business objectives to teams effectively.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following the One Best Way service model; manage and support customer service initiatives; ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies; lead process improvement to ensure a high quality customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and ethics; implement action plans; utilize and support the Open Door Policy; provide guidance on applying these in business processes.
  • Drive financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing P&L statements; managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses; monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operations; implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities selling only ammunition with state requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
