Role DescriptionThe Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Tyler, TX, supporting the Store Manager in daily store operations and team leadership. This role assists with driving sales, overseeing visual merchandising, and maintaining brand standards throughout the store. The Assistant Manager helps train, coach, and schedule team members, ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming, inclusive environment. Daily responsibilities include monitoring store performance, managing inventory processes, supporting opening and closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
The role collaborates with leadership to meet sales goals, optimize staffing, and create a positive workplace culture.
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles, with strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, team coordination, and contributing to a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Basic operational and organizational skills, such as handling cash procedures, assisting with inventory, and supporting store scheduling.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and collaborate with team members and management.
- Ability to work on-site in Tyler, TX, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Interest in fashion and styling, with an understanding of J.Crew's brand aesthetic and commitment to quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior supervisory experience in retail is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and perform standard retail physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.
