- Assist the Crew Chief in all aspects of drilling operations while gaining experience to work with minimal direction
- Collect field samples and data
- Return organized and completed field samples and data to the Project Manager
- Maintain tooling, equipment, and vehicles
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical problems and perform required repairs
- Use required and approved personal protective equipment while performing all functions
- Promote, communicate, and adhere to safe work practices
- Complete required paperwork and training in a timely manner
- Operate vehicles safely and lawfully
- Maintain compliance documentation for commercial motor vehicle operation
- Perform subsurface investigations for geotechnical and environmental purposes across varied terrain, conditions, and weather
- Prior geotechnical drilling experience is preferred but not required
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and supervisors
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Ability to problem solve in a dynamic work environment with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos in English
- Dependable attendance and ability to work a full‑time schedule, including occasional weekends and nights
- Must be available for travel up to 100%, often on short notice
- Ability to work outdoors in field/construction settings and all weather conditions and terrain
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days is preferred
- Ability to pass a driving/road test
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record check
Demonstrates strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems. Capable of performing subsurface investigations and maintaining compliance documentation while adhering to safety practices in varied outdoor environments.
